Elmer Lee Kent, 92, of 9 Pond Road, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at a local Hospital.A native of Haywood County, Mr. Kent was a son of the late Robert Washington and Della Ledford Kent and the husband of the late Ora Jane Blankenship Kent. He was also preceded in death by a son, Donald Eugene Kent, four sisters and three brothers.Survivors include a daughter, Janet K. Powell of Lenoir, five sons, Ronnie Kent of Candler, Wayne Kent of Chattanooga, TN, Omar Kent of Candler, Wilson Kent of Hot Springs and Grover Kent of Denver, NC; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one sister, Robbie Kent Parker of Hot Springs.Funeral services were held at 11am Saturday int he Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Revs. Davis Plemmons and Aaron Phillips officiating. Burial followed in Hickam Family Cemetery on Meadow Fork Road in Madison County.
