James Walter Adair died October 19, 1967 in a Midwest City, Oklahoma, nursing home at age 83. years.

He was born in Shannon county, Missouri in 1884, but grew up in the vicinity of Eastern Oklahoma and Siloam Springs, Arkansas. As a young man he carried mail on horseback at Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He returned to Missouri, married Etta Reed in 1906 and moved to Uniontown, Arkansas, where he lived for many years before moving to Oklahoma.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Etta Adair of the home; four sons, six daughters, 29 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers, Smiley, of Walters, Oklahoma, Ivy, Colcord, Oklahoma and Lester of Uniontown, Arkansas; three sisters, Allie, of Jay Oklalhoma, Vesta, Wasco, California and Beulah of Lanegan, Missouri.

The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Chapel of Paylor's Midwest City Funeral Home followed with burial in Sunnylane, Cemetery.
