MRS. WARD R. HYDE
Mrs. Leah Schmidt Hyde, 63, of 626 Sixth St., wife of Ward R. Hyde, died at 4:45 a.m. today at Marietta Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born June 3, 1901, in Salem Twp., a daughter of George and Mary Ward Schmidt.
She attended the First Congregatinal Church and was a member of Speller Philathea Class of the church. On June 23, 1944, she married Ward R. Hyde, who survives.
Other survivors are one step-daughter, Mrs. James Quigley of Marietta; two brothers, Clarence Schmidt of Salem Twp. and John Schmidt of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Ellen Schau of Beverly; one nephew who was reared in the home, Harvey Dutton of Erie, Pa.; and several other nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester and Charles Schmidt; and one sister, Florence Ethel Dutton.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Harold Hadley Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Wright officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 p.m. today.
