Arthur Folland, 79, died at the Karlstad Healthcare Center, March 8, 2003.
Arthur Ingvald Folland, son of the late Isaac and Anne (Hennissen) Folland, was born Sept. 19, 1923, at Halma. He was baptized and confirmed at Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Halma, and graduated from Karlstad High School in 1942.
Arthur served with the U.S. Army Air Corps and following discharge from the service, returned to Halma.
On Oct. 22, 1962, Arthur was united in marriage to Rosa Daellenbach at Milwaukee, Wis. He was employed as a Soo Line Railroad depot agent for 30 years at Tolley, N.D. Following retirement, the couple moved to Sioux Falls, S.D., and later, to Thief River Falls.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls. For the past year, Arthur has resided at the Karlstad Healthcare Center , Karlstad.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa; two sons: John, Thief River Falls, and Christian, Miami, Beach, Fla.; two daughters: Iris Folland, Sioux Falls, and Lisa Folland, Fargo; one brother: Lee (Joydis), Halma; one sister: Alice Williams, Seattle, Wash.; in addition to several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Agnes and Mildred, and three brothers: Harold, John, and one in infancy.
Services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at St. John Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, Pastor Don Kirchner officiated.
Pallbearers were Mike Folland, Jeremy Folland, Kris Folland, John Folland, Jeff Folland, O'Neil Larson
Interment at Eidsvold Cemetery, Halma.
