Edith I. Thompson, 93, of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, July 26, 1995, at Care More Adult Foster Care in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Monday at Helms Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with the Rev. Wade S. Panse officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.
Visitation at the funeral home is today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or to the donor's choice.
Mrs. Thompson was born Jan. 22, 1902, in Homestead, Pa., to Leslie Ben and Sarah Elizabeth Norton Gifford. She married Leon Thompson Nov. 1, 1920, in Clarion, Pa.
Mrs. Thompson has lived in Mt. Pleasant since 1939. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was an Eastern Star life member.
She is survived by two daughters, Marie (Donald) MacRae of Johnstown, Ohio, and Yvonne Atha of Worthington, Ohio; a son Richard (Evelyn) Thompson of Diamond Head, Miss.; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marie (Sonny) Alden of Pennsylvania and Josephine Hill of Bloomfield Hills; and a sister-in-law, Ann Gifford of Clarion, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Thompson; and a daughter, Ruth Ann Ramsey.
