Mrs. Sarah Catherine Hoy, 78, widow of Daniel F. Hoy, died yesterday afternoon at the VerNooy Sanatorium. A former resident of Arthur Avenue, she had been residing with her daughter, Mrs. Milton Totman of Sylvan Beach, New York. Born June 9, 1872 at Graz, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Jacob and Amanda (Williard) Kissinger.

Mrs. Hoy was a member of the North Presbyterian Church and Cortlandville Grange.

Sarah and Daniel entered into Holy Matrimony on December 19,1896. To this union 4 children were born.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and infant daughter, Vernia. Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Milton (Martha) Totman, of Cortland; two sons, Alfred E. Hoy and wife Ocie,of Clyde,and Marion K. Hoy and wife Delta, of Cortland; seven grandchildren, Mrs. Winifred Barnes of Clyde,Daniel L. Hoy of Clyde, Miss Eva Hoy of Rochester,
Richard C. Hoy of Cortland, Miss Irene E. Hoy of Syracuse, Mrs. Dorothy Dalley of Cortland and Raymond C. Hoy of Cortland; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel Kissinger of Loyalton, Pennsylvania,and Jack Kissinger of Phoenix, Arizona, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m.,Saturday at the Beard Memorial Home, with Rev. Alfred Bentall, pastor, Presbyterian Church, McGraw, officiating.

Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. Interment will be in Cortland Rural Cemetery.
