Mrs. Lula Parker, 87, Rt. Two, Glade Community, died Sunday in a Laurel hospital. She had lived most of her life in Laurel, coming from Alabama, and was a member of Glade Baptist Church. Mrs. Parker was the widow of John Ezra Parker who died in 1968. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. O. L. Welch, Mrs. Claude Finch, both of Laurel; Mrs. C. L. Archey, Pascagoula; three sons, Curtis Parker, Oree Parker, Odell Parker, all of Laurel; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Maggie Pierce, Mobile; Mrs. Odell Hollifield, Quitman; Mrs. Idell Reynolds, Sandersville; Mrs. Annie Hickson, Laurel; two brothers, Milton Holifield, Floyd Holifield, both of Sandersville; and a number of nieces and nephews. Services will be held Tuesday, 3:30 p.m., from the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Hammarstrom officiating. Burial will be in Corinth Cemetery. The body will be placed in the parlor at 2 p.m. Monday.
