THATCHER, Dec. 21. (AP)—-Funeral servlces were to be held here this afternoon for Richard G. Layton, 82 year old Gila valley pioneer stockman, who died Saturday.
Friends and relatives of Layton, who came to Arizona in 18S3 and settled in the San Pedro valley, gathered here from all sections of the state for the services in the Thatcher Ward Chapel of the Latter-Day Saints Church.
Eight children and the widow survive, Mrs. Layton, the former Ann Eliizabeth Horne, and Layton were married in 1885.
The children are Mrs. Isabel Pace, Phoenix; Mrs. Asahel Clifford, Safford; Mrs. Martha Pace, Solomonville; Mrs. Sophronia Clawson, Thatcher; Mrs. Theresa Hall, Boulder, Colorado; Henry Marden Layton, Safford; Richard G. Layton, Jr., Safford and Mrs. Cleo Butler, Honolulu, T. H.
