The body of Mr. John G. Carithers, whose death occurred in Atlanta, at his home, about 2 o'clock yesterday morning, will reach Athens at 10:0 over the Seaboard Air Line, and will be taken to the home of his parents on Meigs street.

The funeral will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock from the home, corner of Meigs and Church streets, Rev. E. H. Jennings, pastor of the Tabernacle Baptist church to conduct the service. The interment will be in the Oconee cemetery by the side of his brother, whose death occurred a few months ago--Mr. Frank Carithers.

Mr. Carithers was thirty-six years of age and leaves a wife and one little son, Jack; he is survived also by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. W.G. Carithers, two sisters, Miss Elizabeth Carithers of this city and Mrs. Roscoe Chesley of Cambridge, Mass., and a brother, Mr. Herschel Carithers of this city. Numerous other close relatives and a host of friends are left to mourn his untimely death.

He had been in ill health for some time. He was a man of fine traits of character and made and held friends wherever he went.

The pall-bearers asked to serve at the funeral are Messrs. R.S. Crane, Gus Nicholson, Arthur Griffeth, James Barrow, J.W. Barnett, and B.F. Woods.
