Ruth and Ruby was born to Reverend Thomas Jefferson and Mattie Anderson.
In 1933 their family came to Santa Ana and her father was the first minister of Second Baptist Church. Ruth was a woman of many first. She defeated from her father's church and was the first black to become a member of First Baptist Church. She served on many boards including PTA, YWCA and NAACP. She was co-founder of the Educational Extention Club.
She was married to Taft Fox for 60 years. From this union three children were born, Richard, John and Yvonne (Pat).
