Funeral for Mary Jo Shawn, 78, of Bridgeport was to be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, at Jones Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow at East Bridgeport Cemetery.

Shawn died Saturday, May 24, 2008, in Bridgeport.

Born Aug. 25, 1929, in Robstown to Herman and Jennie Von Heuvel, she was a nurse's aide.

She was preceded in death by three husbands, Elmer Shawn, Cotton Lawrence and Joe Mulder; a son, Donald Shawn; a daughter, Peggy Barnett; and three brothers.

She is survived by a son, Robert Shawn and wife, Brenda, of Bridgeport; son-in-law, James Barnett of Paradise; brother, Billy Waldeck of Arizona; grandchildren, Colby Shawn and wife, Nyree, Jason Shawn and wife, Toby, Tommy Hendrix and wife, Jennifer, Jimmy Hendrix and Paul Barnett; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Wiley Preskitt, Willie Torres, John Torres, Johnny Pippin, Josh Pippin and Chase Villado."
