Hanley Aamot, 78, of Wendell, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at the Pioneer Home in Fergus Falls.
Hanley was born on March 1, 1929, in Wendell to Omer Palmer and Minnie Christine (Brown) Aamot. He attended grade school in Wendell and graduated from the Morris Ag School in 1946. He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. [Korea]
Hanley was an Honor Guard for General M. B. Ridgway, Commander of the Allied Powers in Japan. After his discharge, Hanley returned to Wendell and went into the family business.
On Dec. 30, 1960, Hanley was married to Joan Kuball of Lawton, N.D. The couple made their home in Wendell and raised three sons.
Hanley was a partner in Aamot Implement in Wendell, a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, was active in the American Legion and belonged to the Lions Club.
He is survived by his sons: Jim (Julie) Aamot, Zimmerman, Chuck Aamot, Fergus Falls, and Andy (Deanna) Aamot, Ashby; grandchildren: Amy Brehm (daughter Keely), Mounds View, Tianna (Micah and Isaac), Cambridge, and Kalista and Kyra, Ashby; a sister, Mignon (Roy) Randall, Wendell; and several nieces and nephews.
Hanley was preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Minnie Aamot; one niece, Lori Randall; and one brother, Odell Aamot.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wendell
