This is my Grandfather. He was the most giving person that I ever met. Together, with my Grandmother, they traveled all over the place. They loved to go to Las Vegas, and to other such places. I didn't really get to know my Grandpa until we moved to Texas in '97. I am so glad that I had those last few years to fix that. Grandpa was just the greatest, he helped me with so much in my life. He helped buy our 1st car, he helped with our wedding expenses, and he was always there to just listen when you had a problem. All the grandkids got the same gift from my grandparents when we turned 21 years old. VEGAS BABY! That is how I'll always remember him, at the slot machines.
For as long as I can remember, my Grandpa has battled diabetes. He tried really hard, and he did really good for so long, that it was a shock to us when it took his life. In a blink of an eye one day he was here, the next, he was gone. My parents, Grandma, and brother were at his side when he passed on. My other brother, and I had gone on a trip to visit family. My brother and I regret that to this day, although I know my Grandpa wouldn't be upset that we weren't there. My only other regret is that we didn't have more time together.
