Ercel Allred Olsen, 84, of Monroe, Utah, died September 11, 1990 in a Provo hospital.
Born November 6, 1905, Fountain Green, Utah to Thomas Warren and Sarah Eliza Collard Allred. Married Khalil Shurtz, February 10, 1928 in Fountain Green, Utah; later divorced. Married Homer Christian Olsen, November 30, 1933 in Provo, Utah; solemnized July 17, 1936 in the Manti LDS Temple. He died April 13, 1987.
A graduate of Snow College and University of Utah. Taught elementary school in Sevier, Piute and Juab counties for 42 years. Served as president of Stake YWMIA, Ward Relief Society. Affiliated with AAUW and Daughters of Utah Pioneers. President of the Monroe Literose. Served as South Sevier Stake Missionary. Active in the Homer C. Olsen Senior Citizen Center in Monroe, Utah.
Survived by two sons, two daughters, Homer J. Olsen, Alamo, California; Mrs. Keith (Marilyn) Magee, Wenatchee, Washington; Mrs. David (Winifred) Dahl, Calgary, Canada; Steven T. Olsen, San Francisco, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services Saturday, September 15, 1990 at 11 a.m. in the Monroe 4th LDS Ward Chapel, 49 East 200 North. Friends may call at the Neal S. Magleby and Sons Mortuary, Friday evening from 7-9 and Saturday at the ward chapel in Monroe from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial: Monroe City Cemetery.
