Enlisted into 7th Battn Cavalry (North Carolina. Transferred from 7th Battn Cav (North Carolina) on Aug 3 1863 to D Company, 6th Cavalry (North Carolina) on Aug 3 1863. POW on June 22 1864 at Jackson's Mills, North Carolina. Confined on June 24 1864 at Point Lookout, Maryland. Died of disease as POW while serving in 6th Cavalry (North Carolina) on Sep 15 1864 at Point Lookout, MD (Diarrhoea).
