David Kent Gomez, 66, passed away peacefully at home on April 27, 2008. Born in Magna, Utah, to Raymond Romero Gomez and Emma Jean Jorgensen. Dad was proud to be an American. He studied World War II History. Having 35+ years of service at Kennecott Corp. in which he built many friendships there. He had a love for old cars, enjoyed working with his hands, having a gift for building wooden top-sail ships. He gave anonymously to multiple charities and always willing to give the shirt off his back to help others. Being a notorious prankster, he loved to tease everyone he knew. He was loved very much by family and friends.
Survived by his wife, Janet; children, Sherry, Carmen, John, Jay, Jennie, Jody and Deena; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers, Sonny and Ben; sisters, Carmen and Sherry; extended families and his loyal companion, "BB" the cat. Gomez, you will be truly missed.
Services as follows: Viewing on Friday, May 2nd from 12:30 p.m.-1:45 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. 10600 So., Sandy, followed by a Graveside Service at 2:00 p.m. in the cemetery. The family is accepting donations for funeral expenses at Wells Fargo Bank in C/O "The David Gomez Family Memorial Fund".
