Robert was born to William Blenkinsop and Agnes (Rooney) Jones in Parma, Idaho. He passed into the hands of God in Fresno.

Bob loved life and lived it to the fullest. Raised in Idaho, he loved hunting and fishing.

As a teen during the Great Depression, he began his working life in the C.C.C. and later joined the U.S. Army prior to WWII. He returned home a highly decorated veteran of the African-Italian campaigns. He continued to serve during the Korean and Vietnam wars, retiring from the service on March 1, 1970.

He then continued working as a machinest well into his 70's.

He loved to travel and went to his last RV rally this year.

The loves of his long life were Louise Imus of Boise, Idaho and Barbara Willson Blenkinsop of Minden, Nevada. He cared for Barbara for five years until her passing on October 10, 2003. Both Louise and Barbara preceded him in death.

Also preceding Robert in death are brothers, William and James Blenkinsop; sister, Phoebe Smith; and children, Judith Sparkman and Larry Willson.

Bob was a loyal and helpful friend to many and he will be dearly missed by all.

He is survived by children, Larry Blenkinsop and his wife Teresa, Janis Dixon and her husband Mike, Sharleen Blenkinsop and Janet Adams; seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, among them Greg Mattern who was there for him during the last failing years.

Memorial services and interment will be at the Garden Cemetery in Gardnerville, Nevada at a later date.
