War of 1812 - Large Allen monument near the back of the cemetery, has the names of Isaac, Susan, Merilla, Louisa, Napoleon Allen on it. Isaac owned the land where the cemetery is located (lot 61) Isaac ALLEN, a Vermonter, located at West Groton Corners about 1804, and was the founder of the settlement at that place. He built the first store, established a tavern, and was an extensive landowner in the vicinity. (Kurt Riegel)
