Prosper King P.K. Whitney, IV, 71, husband of Patsy Lokey Whitney, retired Director of Information and Financial Services with PPG, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at a local hospital. Mr. Whitney was born March 27, 1937 in Chicago, IL, the son of Mabel Mae and Prosper King Whitney, III. Mr. Whitney was a graduate of the University of Illinois and a Marine Corps Veteran. He retired as Director of Information and Financial Services of PPG after 48 years and was currently serving on the Board of the Park West Property Owners Association. Mr. Whitney will be deeply missed by his wife of 51 years, Patsy. He was a loving father and will be deeply missed by son Brian D. Whitney and his wife Carol of Pittsburg, PA; daughter Peggy Morrow and her husband John of Mooresville, NC; and daughter-in-law Ellen Whitney of Summerville, SC. Son, Mark Whitney, preceded Mr. Whitney in death. Mr. Whitney will be deeply missed by brother Walter Whitney of Millington, TN; sister Jo Ann Whitney of Denver, CO; 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Whitney will be buried with military honors in Beaufort National Cemetery
