He was born Nov. 26, 1930, in Stokes County to Troy Monroe and Ida Belle Carson Nunn.
Mr. Nunn was a very successful insurance agent, self employed, a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and a founding member of the Pilot Mountain Rescue Squad.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice Fulk Nunn, of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, a son and daughter-in-law, three granddaughters, three grandsons, two great-grandsons, a sister, Diane Mitchell, of Pilot Mountain; and four brothers, Phillip Delano Nunn of San Antonio, Texas, Troy A. "Billy" Nunn of Pilot Mountain, P.V. "Sammy" Nunn of Kernersville and Lonnie Joe Inman of Walnut Cove.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, at Fairview United Methodist Church conducted by Brother Don Collins, Brother Harvey Arrington, Brother Samuel Scott Jr. and the Rev. Amy Coles. Mr. Nunn will lie in state from 1:30 to 2 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at the church.
Memorials may be made to Northern Hospice, P.O. Box 6626, Mount Airy, NC 27030; or to Fairview United Methodist Cemetery Fund, 3664 Quaker Church, Pinnacle, NC 27043. The Nunn family is being served by Cox-Needham Funeral Home, Pilot Mountain.
