Denzil Adkins, age 48 of Sawmill Road, Ezel, KY, passed away Monday, June 19, 2006 at UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY.

Denzil was born September 9, 1957 in Morgan County, KY, son of the late Leonard Adkins & Lois Bayes Adkins.

He was a retired Morgan County School bus driver and a dedicated member of The Blackwater Volunteer Fire Dept., with over 20 years of faithful service. His first day of service being September 23, 1985. He accepted The Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior.

He was preceded in death by his Father; Leonard Adkins, 1 Brother; Harold Adkins & a very special Mother-in-law, Granny.

Survived by his Wife; Linda Burchett Adkins, Ezel, KY; Mother; Lois Bayes Adkins, Elkfork, KY; 3 Daughters; Heather & Dwight Keeton, Amanda Adkins, and Lindsay Adkins all of Ezel, KY; 1 Grandson; Jacob Denzil Keeton, Ezel, KY; 3 Sisters; Sharon & Burns Cottle, West Liberty, KY, Anna & Gary Mays, Wellington, KY, Edna Mae & Tim Tyree, Elkfork, KY; 3 Brothers; Darrell & Haley Adkins, Fairborn, OH, Wendell & Sharon Adkins, Fairborn, OH, Loenard Ray & Marsha Adkins, Elkfork, KY; A host of nieces & nephews, and a Special Friend, Claudell Nickell, Ezel, KY.

Funeral Services were conducted 1:00 pm Friday, June 23, 2006 at Herald & Stewart & Halsey Chapel, with Rev. Jesse Dennis, Bro. Joe Jenkins & Bro. Darris Hammons officiating. Burial followed in Ezel Cemetery, Ezel, KY.

FireFighter Last Rites; conducted at Graveside at Ezel Cemetery.

Honorary Pallbearers; Blackwater Volunteer Fire Dept.

Active Pallbearers; Jody Oldham, Al Justice, Frankie Oldham, Claudell Nickell, Ralph Collinsworth and Ray Adkins.
