Napoleon Edward Ashley. the Ashleys are from Wilkes co NC, along the border of South Western VA where they married into the Tollivers and Caudills, and up into South Eastern KY, then up to MI and WI. Poley was the son of Wm. Ashley and Pearlie Spencer. he was half brother to William's other kids. William married Almy Spencer. Pearlie married Carter Blanton. Poley was raised by his Spencer grandparents in Lee county, KY. black hair , brown eyes. he married Barbara Kidd when they were teenagers and they moved up to Michigan for work. they lived for years in Walled Lake MI, where several of their kids were born, then WI. they divorced ,moved seperately out to WA state where they are buried.
