Jesse D. Sanders, 71, 1624 NW 2nd Ave., died this morning at his home after an extended illness.
He was a native of Charlotte, N.C., and had lived in Gainesville for 26 years. He was a member of Micanopy Lodge F & AM and a veteran of World War I.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow in Jones-Johnson Funeral Home with Dr. U.S. Gordon officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Saunders, Bill Saunders, Dick Sanders, Denton Wilson, Willard Fish and Ferrel Spence.
Survivors include his widow, Mary S.; a son, James S.; and a daughter, Mrs. C. Allen Ross, both of Gainesville; a sister, Mrs. Ola Jones, Lyons, Ga.; and six grandchildren.
The family requests that flowers be omitted in lieu of contributions to Emphysema research.
