Mary A. Russell was born in Clark County, Ind., March 29, 1812, passed from time to eternity Jan. 1, 1900, at the advanced age of 87 years, 9 months and 2 days. She was married to Samuel Berry Jan. 9, 1834. This union was blessed with ten children, nine of whom are still living. Eight are married and one single. Besides the nine children, fifty grand children, fifty-nine great grand-children, and three great, great grand-children, with the aged husband and a host of friends mourn her departure. Mrs. Berry united with the M. E. Church in 1832, and maintained a Christian life until the Lord called her to lay down the burden and commence life as a child where years, centuries or ages are unknown for time has no place in the calendar of eternity. The funeral took place at her late residence Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Hall. Interment at Crown Hill cemetery. Her sons, M. L., and Eli, of Indianapolis, Daniel and Andy, of Hardy, William, of Bethlehem, and John W. acting as pall-bearers.
