Bud was born in Dayton, Ohio. He married Bernadette Ahlers in 1931. He moved to Fairborn after his marriage to work at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as an electrician. He was well-read and had many interests, including making wine and gardening. No one could tell a joke like Bud could. He retired in 1971 after over 40 years of service. In 1986, he and Bernadette moved to Los Angeles, CA to live with their daughter Ruth and her family.
