She was born September 22, 1902 in Norwalk, the daughter of Leroy and Addie Foust Kennedy. She married Earl Rice, Sr., on October 23, 1920 in Chariton.
Mrs. Rice was a member of the Christian Church in Norwalk and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a resident of rural Bonaparte for 54 years.
Surviving are one son, Robert Rice, and one daughter, Ilene Meek, both of Bonaparte; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one son, one daughter and one grandson.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 18, 1993 at the Hofbauer Funeral Home in Farmington with Rev. Fred Malone officiating. Burial was in the Bonaparte Cemetery.
A memorial was establlished for the Bonaparte First Responders.
