Services for Owen Kyle Aylor, 24, choral music teacher at Edison Junior High School will be held at 10 a. m. Saturday, February 21, 1970 in the First Baptist Church with the rev. F. M. Farrington, pastor of Belmore Baptist Church and Dr. Gordon Clinard, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens directed by Johnson's Funeral Home.

Mr. Aylor, who lived at the Megdalen Arms Apartments was found dead about 8:30 a. m. Thursday after he failed to report to school. Peace Justice Ava Smith pronounced him dead at the scene and ordered an autopsy to determine cause of death. Smith said apparently no violence was involved in the death and Aylor apparently died in his sleep.

Mr. Aylor was born Jan 7, 1946 and was graduated from San Angelo Central High School. He had majored in Music at Hardin-Simmons University at Abilene and served during the summer of 1968 as music and youth director for the Lake View Baptist Church.

While a student at HSU, Mr Aylor was a member was a member of Singers Ho! which planned to go to Vietnam with the USO tours to perform for U.S. troops last summer. He was a member of the A Cappella Choir at Central and was a member of the all-state choir during his senior year there.

A member of the HSU concert choir while in the university, he took summer training at Angelo State University in voice training. He was featured in the recital last summer at HSU.

Survivors include his parents Mr. and Mrs. Howard O. Aylor of San Angelo; three brothers Howard O. Aylor Jr., of El Paso, Texas, Kemper V. Aylor and Don C. Aylor of Waco: a sister Karen Kay Aylor of San Angelo, Texas and his grandmother, Mrs. Opal Graham of San Angelo, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Grandy Elder, Earl Rhea, Eddie Middleton, Paul Brownfield, Monet Lane and Ray Spieler, all of San Angelo, Texas.

Owen Kyle was a member of the Central High School A Capella Chair and was an all-state baritone. He was also a member of the Varsity Swim Team at Central, He graduates from Hardin Simmons University with a B.A. degree in voice and a minor in piano. Always active in the church, Owen served as music director for many churches during high school and college. Among these were Belmore Baptist, First Baptist, First Christian, and Lake View Baptist in San Angelo and Baptist churches in Sweetwater and Knox City. After graduation Owen worked with the San Angelo Boys Club and was hired as Choir Director at Edison Junior High in San Angelo. He loved working with young people and inspired them to love and appreciate music, At the time of his death he was writing original music and compiling a book af poetry which he hoped to publish.
