Wife of Katie Steele Monroe (married on 16 May 1906)
Granddaughter of Archibald "Baldy" McGirt III and Mary Gilchrist.
The Thursday, April 18, 1907 edition of The Robesonian included:
On Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock one of our dear friends, Mrs. Steel Monroe (nee Miss Nina McGirt) gave up this life to join the bright angels of death. Words fail to express how sorely grieved her many friends and loved ones were to part with her so early in life. She was always lively and seemed to enjoy life so much. Her remains were buried in the Ashpole cemetery Wednesday at 10 o'clock. Her grief stricken husband and parents have our hearts tenderest sympathies.
