Son of Alexander "Sandy" McGirt and Amanda Frances Bullock

The February 15, 1894 edition of the Statesville [NC] Landmark included the following item: The Lumberton Robesonian says the 3 year old child of Alex. McGirt was drowned in Wilkerson swamp Sunday night a week ago. The parents were away and the children were playing near the swamp when this one strayed from the rest. Search was made for it and its body was found.
