At the age of 17 years she came to Oakland, Iowa to visit her sister. She secured a position teaching country school there and remained in that community until she moved to Glenwood, Iowa. She taught there until she married Levi F. Potter at Kansas City, Mo. in December of 1909. They then came to Harlan, Iowa and she has since made this her home.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Fred Beebe and two sisters, Mrs Emma Stewart and Mrs Adalee Crowell.
She is survived by one son, Maxfield W. Potter of Oakland, Iowa; five grandchildren, Patricia Potter of Toledo, Iowa; Maxfield Franklin Jr.; Bruce McCray; Jean Elizabeth and James Richard Potter, all of Oakland, Iowa. She is also survived by two nieces, Mrs Mildred Cowles of Cleveland, Ohio and Mrs Vesta Stewart of Kansas City, Mo.
Burial was in the Harlan Cemetery next to her husband.
