"A.A. Griesedieck, Head of Brewery Firm, Dies At 55 – Suffered From Complication of Diseases for Several Years-Funeral Friday. – Anton A. Griesedieck, 55-year-old president of the Griesedieck Bros Brewery Co., 1920 Shenandoah Avenue, died today at his home, 3250 Hawthorne boulevard. Death was due to a complication of ailments from which he had suffered for several years. His health had been particularly uncertain for several weeks, and he had been confined to his bed since Saturday.
Mr. Griesedieck was a member of a prominent family of brewers, being a cousin of Henry L. Griesedieck, president of the Griesedieck Western Brewery in Belleville, ILL. His father, Henry Griesedieck, Jr., founded the Griesedieck Bros. brewery in 1911, and Anton Griesedieck became president about twenty years ago.
Mr. Griesedieck was a bachelor. Surviving are two brothers, Robert J. and Edward J. Griesedieck, both of whom are associated with the brewery, and a sister, Miss Frances Griesedieck.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning from the residence, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. The time for the funeral has not been set. The Arthur J. Donnelly Undertaking Co., 3840 Lindell boulevard, is in charge of arrangements."
