Services for Bobbie Charles King will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2005 in the chapel at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Centuries Memorial Park with Military Honors. Officiating will be Bro. Tommy Allen. He entered into rest Tuesday, August 16, 2005 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 19, 2005 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Mr. King was born November 10, 1934 in Tallulah, LA. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and also a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, a member of American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War. He retired as Mst. Sgt. from the U.S. Air Force in 1971, and from Lucent Technologies in 1992. Mr. King served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a man that loved his family, and would do anything for anybody. He was also an avid golfer and fisherman. He lived life everyday to the fullest.

Mr. King is preceded in death by his parents, James Robert King and Ophie Frances Turnage and his sisters: Maxine and Doris Jinks.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mary Cumpton King; two sons, Bobby Craig King of Shreveport, LA and Gregory Scott King and his wife, Christine of Ruston, LA, and two grandchildren, Rachel Leigh Hicks and husband, Mitchell of Norfolk, VA and Zachary Scott King of Spring, TX. He is also survived by his brothers, Leo, Garland, and James King; his sisters, Margie, Wanda, and Juanita King and a number of nieces, nephews and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Ford, Jim Hill, Dennis Wilde, Al Gonyea, and Bruce Kennedy. Pallbearers will be Jerry Smith, Charles Robinson, Wayne Smith, Roy Gwinn, George Ricardo and Willie Webb.
