Her birth name was Iva Frances Underwood, born in 1890 in Colorado, to John W. Underwood and Lillie Ann Tartar; her parents were married in Huerfano County, Colorado, in 1889.
Iva was living with her grandparents, Newton J(asper) Underwood and Narcissa Shipley (the census transcription of her name is "Norsica"), in La Grande Precinct 1, 2, or 3, Union County, Oregon, at the time of the 1910 U.S. Census.
In the 1910 U.S. Census, Iva Bridwell is recorded in the household of Charles Bridwell in Wallowa County.
In the 1920 and 1930 U.S. Censuses, she's recorded in the household of Elmer L. Akins in Wallowa County.
I haven't yet found her in the 1940 U.S. Census.
