Raymond Wayne Rollings passed away on June 9, 2008 in Tacoma, at the age of 67. He was born on April 30, 1941, in Eldorado, Kansas to the late Charles and Bernardine Rollings. In the 1950's, Ray traveled from Kansas to Washington with his family to settle in the Ruston area. He graduated from Mount Tahoma High School in 1962. Ray served in the Army National Guard during the early 1960's. He was a member of the Masons for more than 20 years. For many years, he served as a board member for the local Boys and Girls Club and the local Rainbow Girls organization, where he was affectionately known as "Rainbow Dad". Ray was deeply devoted to his family and was one of the nicest men you ever had the chance to meet. He is dearly missed by Linda, his wife of 46 years. He is survived by three children, Beth Schrotenboer (Brian) of Tacoma, Monica Kirk (Kevin) of Auburn, Brad Rollings (Amy) of Bellevue, and his grand-daughter Callie Kirk. He will also be missed by his siblings, Linda, Clarisses, Don, and a large extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at the Chambers Creek Chapel of New Tacoma Cemetery and Funeral Home at 1pm on Friday, June 13, 2008. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1313 Broadway #100, Tacoma, WA 98402; or to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
