Mary Lucille Avey, 71, of Bridgeport died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, April 10, 2003.
She was born October 21, 1931, the daughter of William Cicero and Orie Viola (Moorer) Mizzell at Berkley, South Carolina. For several years she resided at Sacramento, CA. In 1991, she moved to Bridgeport to be closer to her family.
She is survived by her ex-husband, Frank Austin of Twisp; a special friend & companion Charles Avey of Bridgeport; two sons, Bill Austin and Harvey Austin of Twisp; a daughter, Debra and her husband, Dave Waymire of Wenatchee; a nephew, Henry (& Shelley) Austin of Bridgeport; a niece, Mary & Jorge Lara of Bridgeport; sister, Ellen Smoak of Dorchester, SC; half brother, Joseph Moorer of Dorchester, SC; and half sister, Lillian Moorer of Summerville, SC.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, two sisters and her daughter, Thelma Viola Austin.
Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2003 at Beaver Creek Cemetery in Twisp with Donn Plew officiating. There will be no visitation. A potluck for family and friends at the Sagebrush Cafe in Pateros at 2:30 p.m. following the service. Services are under the direction of Barnes Chapel, Brewster.
