Peter was the son of George Eve (Moyer) KING.

He was the husband of Mary (Shoemaker).

They first lived in Fairfield County, then they moved to Sandusky County, Ohio. In 1852 they settled on 240 acres of only partly cleared land. Peter was a Democrat and served in many township offices. He supported the German Reform Church.

Their children were: Henry M., George W., J. Monroe, Lewis, Levi, Malindah O., Melinda, Mariam, Mary A., Peter, Rebecca, & Samuel S..

After moving to Washington Township, Sanducky County, Ohio, Peter and Mary built a large two-story framehouse and had a circular stairway that went from the basement up to the deck of the roof. It also had a beautiful parlor on the first floor. Peter and Mary's son, Jacob Monroe King, raised all of his children here and lived in the family house his whole life.

Peter King, was the son of George and Eve (Moyer) King. He was born Jan 30, 1817 and died 1888 in Washington Twp., Sandusky Co. Ohio, aged 63 years 6 months 2 days. Peter King came to Sandusky County, Ohio in 1851 from Fairfield County, Ohio where he resided after his marriage to Mary Shoemaker, on March 1, 1838 by Henry King (Minister). She was a native of Pickaway Co., Ohio and was born March 17, 1818, died June 27, 1901 aged 83 years 3 months 10 days.
The Kings settled on a partly cleared farm of 240 acres in Washington twp. and in that section Peter King became a man of much consequence. He served in many of the township offices, was a leader in the Democratic party and was one of the most liberal supporters of the German Reformed church. He was the father of a large family (9 children). Besides farming, he was a carpenter and a cabinet maker, and took great pride in doing his work well. He built a large house for his family. There was a circular stairway from the main floor to the attic. The woodwork was rubbed and polished until it was smooth as glass. On top of the roof was a sun deck with a metal fence around it. The chimney was round (different from our square conrnered chimneys.) Peter King bought his home on Nov 22, 1851 from John Harmon and (as of the 1960s) had remained in the King family.

Children of Peter and Mary King: Samuel S., George W., Rebeccas S., Levi, Henry M., Malinda, Mary Ann, Peter S., and Jacob M.
