Kenneth W. Allen, 60, former resident of Monticello, died August 19, 1975 at Burnham City Hospital, Champaign. Services were held at Mackey Funeral Home with burial in Monticello Cemetery.

Mr. Allen was born November 26, 1914 in Monticello the s/o Wilbur and Nellie Oldfield Allen. He married Lola Mae Maier. She survives along with a son, Kerry, of Washington D.C.; a daughter, Mrs. Robin Pappin, Toronto, Canada; and a brother, Howard of Kankakee. A brother and a sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Allen served as Piatt Co. Superintendent of Schools from 1949 to 1951; also served as Superintendent of Schools at Melvin, Good Hope and Galena. He taught at Jefferson Jr. High School in Champaign from 1968 until he retired in May 1974. At present, he was employed at the Illini Union at the University of Illinois. During WW II, he was a Chief in the U.S. Navy.
