Robert "Bob" Louis Johnson was born in Reelfoot, TN on June 23, 1929. I don't know his parents names or his siblings. He moved to Michigan when he was in his early teen years so the family could find work in Detroit in the car factories.

Bob joined the Navy before he was actually old enough to join the service at the end of WW II. I know that Bob was B.C.D. (bad conduct discharge) from the Navy. He became very good friends with another sailor from Mississippi named Leroy Hudspeth, his partner in mischief.

I know Bob had two sisters. One was named Rebecca and I'm not sure what the name of the other sister was. It could be Doris or Elizabeth. One of the sisters was a nurse. I know Bob had brothers with one possibly being named David. I know one of is brothers worked at the GM car factory and he got Bob a job there. Bob quit working the job there and left his family and he NEVER looked back. Bob said that once in 1964 that he drove past his parents house in Michigan and saw his mother sweeping the porch and he did not even stop to speak and to my knowledge, that was the last time that he saw her.

Bob never talked about his family. What I know about Bob and the other "few" people that he allowed to get close to him, we learned in bits and pieces and over a period of 25 years. I have pictures of Bob which I am posting on here. When I first took a picture of Mr. Bob, he asked WHY was I taking his picture. What was I going to do with it? I told him simply just to take his picture. Why was he so secretive? We have no clue! Does he have a past? We have no clue! I am putting this memorial on here in case any of his family members ever wondered what happened to him. You can e-mail me if you think you know Bob and I will tell you what I know about him.

I also know that Bob traveled the world. He lived in Africa, Hawaii, Mississippi, Tennessee, Michigan, and Thailand. I know that he worked on oil rigs in Africa and on boats. I know that he used to drive an 18 wheel truck all over the US in his later years. I know he has probably lived in a lot more places than I will ever know.

He called most men "Hoss". He claimed to never to be sick and he smoked cigarettes like a freight train puffing smoke. Bob never married and he never had any children.
