McCONNELSVILLE - Betty J. Mason Carruthers Roberts, 76, of East Bell Avenue, McConnelsville, died at 9:24 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at Genesis Health and Rehab, McConnelsville.
She was born March 14, 1930, in Reynoldsburg, the daughter of the late Donald F. Mason and Tracy Lucille Stout Pickinpaugh. She was a homemaker and a nurse's aide at The Mark Rest Center in McConnelsville. Betty was a member of the Cornerstone Full Gospel Church South in McConnelsville and the Morgan County Senior Citizens.
Surviving are two sons, J. Wayne (Nelva) Carruthers of Hebron and Ray D. (Lisa) Carruthers of Collinsville, Ill; one daughter, Debra (Joe) Walsh of Pottstown, Pa.; a twin sister, Ethel Bennett of Lancaster; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; one niece and six nephews; and special friends, Doris and Jim Parinson, Tammy Kuhn and Pastor Steve Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, John W. Carruthers; second husband Dale Roberts; one sister, Barbara Dock' and one half brother Russell E. Mason.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at the Matheney Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, with Pastor Steve Smith officiating. Burial will be in McConnelsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the Cornerstone Full Gospel Church South Building Fund, P.O. Box 266 McConnelsville, OH 43756.
