"Thurman Alexander Jacobs, the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Jacobs, was born in Sullivan county, Missouri, January 25, 1878, and was brought up on the farm. He attended school at the Hooker district. He was married to Miss Hattie Browning, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Browning, on February 19, 1902, and to this union two children survive.

For several years his health has been failing and much time and money was spent in search of health but all in vain. The past few weeks he was confined to his bed till death relieved him of his suffering and on Tuesday, February 9th, he passed away.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, February 11, at his father's residence by M. R. F. Nickell, after which his remains, followed by a large number of relatives and friends, were interred in the Hoover cemetery to await the resurrection morn.

Mr. Jacobs leaves a wife, parents, four brothers, three sisters and a host of friends to mourn his early departure." The Milan Republican (Milan, Missouri), February 25, 1909
