Born in Taylorville, Ill., he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in White Bear, Minn., and San Diego, Calif., from 1950 until retirement in 1959. He came to Salem in 1975. An Army veteran of World War I, he was a past commander of American Legion Port 255 in White Bear and a member of Minnesota National Guard.
Survivors include daughter-in-law, JoAnn Runyon, Salem; step-son, Maurice Lizee, Excelsior, Minn.; sisters, Mildred and Mattie, and brothers, Everett and Ray, all of Taylorville; six grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Private graveside services will be at Lee Mission Cemetery under the direction of Barrick mortuary."
