Donna M. Anderson, age 93, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2008 at a local care center. She was a resident of Colorado Springs since 1956 and had moved here from Vermont, Illinois.
She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker, cookie maker, and avid reader. Donna Marie Burgett was born on April 19, 1915 in Ipava, Illinois to the late Earl and Hazel (Hummel) Burgett. She was one of seven siblings.
She married Howard B. Anderson on August 18, 1938 in Rushville, Illinois. Howard passed away in 1990. Mrs. Anderson enjoyed cooking, baking and walking. This "spunky lady" loved her family, the great outdoors and all of the little birds and animals that visited her home and neighborhood.
She is survived by her 2 sons: Larry Anderson; and Terry (wife, Suzanne) Anderson and her daughter: Lisa Anderson; all of Colorado Springs.
She is also survived by her 2 grandchildren: Christopher (wife, Jennifer) Anderson of Bothell, Washington and Kimberly (husband, Jason) Moree of Pueblo West, Colorado. She also has 2 great-grandchildren: Zachary and Landon. Private family services were held. She was entombed with her late husband, Howard, at the Shrine of Remembrance Mausoleum, Gate of Heaven.
Memorials may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region, 610 Abbot Lane, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80905. Blessed be her memory.
