He came to the United States when he was 21, and about 40 years ago he made his home with his brother in the family, where he has since lived. Arthur was not only a good brother in the family, but endeared himself in a fatherly manner. He was quite and inoffensive in his associations, and accordingly was esteemed by a large circle of friends. Mr. Waetzig was made a Master Mason just 41 years from the day of his death, ( April 14, 1885), and has continued in faithful and active membership all these years. He was also secretary of the Eastern Star. His devotion and accuracy in all his records have received many evidences of approval.
One sister, Amy Jane Morris, Cardiff, Wales, is the only living member of his family. The last service was held from the M. E. Church at Carbondale, Friday at 2 p.m. Rev. Ludwick officiating. The Mason Lodge conducted the ritual service at the grave.
