Retired Cessna Aircraft Co., purchasing dept., passed away Sunday, April 29, 2007. Memorial services were at 10:30 Wednesday, May 1st at the Broadway Mortuary. Preceded in death by parents, Hiram and Pernia Rose. Survivors include: son, Duane and wife Mabel Pfannenstiel, Wichita; daughter, Dianna and husand Ronald Hood, Waco, TX; brother, Vernon and wife, Doris Rose, CA; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 1 niece and 2 nephews.

Duane Rose fought a long battle with Parkinson's disease. A Memorial in honor of Duane was established at the Parkinson's Foundation of Wichita, KS.

Duane's life long passion was racing. He raced dragsters for many years. At a very young age Duane married Marie Evans. They had two children together, Duane and Dianna. Marie later divorced Duane due to their time apart as a result of racing. Marie's following husband Cyril adopted Duane and Dianna. Duane later remarried. As an adult man, Duane's son established a relationship with him and they became very close in his final days.
