Avonelle Gilmore Andrews, 78, of Waco, passed away on Sunday morning June 15, 2008. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, at Bellmead Funeral home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, at Bellmead Funeral Home Chapel with her son, the Rev. Bobby Andrews officiating.

Avonelle was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Solon Arthur and Essie Mae Marlar Gilmore, and attended La Vega schools. She was a wonderful wife and mother and found great satisfaction in such. Her favorite things to do were to cook for her family and friends, attend church, and play dominoes and other games. She was retired from MCC where she worked in the Nursing Department and Testing Services. She attended Bethesda Bible Church for many years and was a Deacon at Redeeming Love Church since 1999.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Andrews.

She is survived by her daughter, Tami Wright and her husband, Gary; son, the Rev. Bobby Andrews and his wife, Lydia; grandchildren, Joshua Andrews, John Caleb Andrews, Jennifer Ferris, and Crystal Morris; great-grandchild, Annabeth Ferris; brother, Carey Gilmore, of Ft. Worth; along with many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews; and special lifelong friends, Joe and Mary Smith and Bill and Joy Masters, whom she loved like family.
