Daniel Tucker was a veteran of the 27th Me. Infantry. The book 'A Shower of Stars' by John Pullen is about the 27th. This regiment received Medals of Honor for extending thier enlistment. Through an error even those that did not extend got medals. In 1917 a review board revoked all the medals because extending did not meet the criteria for qualifying for the medal anyway. Daniel Tucker was not one of the men who extended. He was the son of John Tucker and Mary Garland. His death was from chronic Brights disease.
