Mary E. (Taylor) Abney, departed this life Sept 21, 1936. She was born March 19, 1854, in Decatur, Ill.
Married W. H. Abney, Sept 18, 1872, and to this union was born nine children. Deceased was a member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist church in Hughes county.
Survivors are J. W. Abney, Leachville, Ark., W. T. Abney, Amber, Okla., Mrs. A. N. Winkles Okemah; 17 grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. G. W. Ray, at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Sept 22, and interment was in Highland cemetery in charge of the Okemah Funeral Home.
