Dorcas Kelley was the daughter of Franklin Lewis Benge and Elizabeth Campbell Benge. She was born in Warren County, Iowa, and was the first white child born in that county. She married a man named Hood. In 1863 she married William Henry Kelley probably in Missouri. They came to the Eldorado area in 1891 from Collin County, Texas. They were parents of ten children. She died five miles northwest of Eldorado, Oklahoma.
