CLAYPOOL, Mrs. A.T. – Mrs. A.T. Claypool died at her home near the public school building Monday morning about 6 o'clock, the result of cerebral hemorrhage. She was stricken Sunday evening about seven o'clock and was conscious only a short time. Mrs. Claypool was similarly affected last January and had not entirely recovered but she was gradually growing stronger and her friends were hoping she would eventually be herself again. She visited at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jno. P. Stafford, Sunday afternoon and appeared unusually well and stated that she felt better than for several days. Funeral services were held at the Christian Church Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Prof. R.H. Johnson, after which the remains were interred in Bluff Cemetery. A large crowd was present at the church and many followed the remains of their friends to the silent city of the dead. The deceased was born in Indiana, August 1, 1843. In 1870 she was united in marriage to Stephen Claypool at Louisville, Ky. And to that union were born six children, three of whom survive, Lena Southwick Claypool Stafford, Mrs. Cessna Renner and W.A. Claypool. The husband also survives and is in Kentucky where he has been for some time for the benefit of his health. He was unable to get here for the funeral. The family came to Arkansas from Kentucky some 20 years ago, locating at Bentonville and they came to Springdale thirteen years ago and have resided here since. At the age of eighteen years the deceased made a profession of religion, was baptized and joined the church of United Brethren. She never made a display of her religion or paraded her religious or paraded her religious beliefs before the public. When her health permitted she was regular in her attendance at church and prayer meeting and took an active interest in church work of every kind. She was always ready and prompt to render aid to every worthy cause. It was for her children that she lived. She loved them as only a mother can love and no sacrifice was too great for her when it would add to their comfort or happiness. She was a noble, self-sacrificing woman and bore the afflictions of life with courage and fortitude.[The Springdale News -
