William Henry Wise was a Confederate soldier with service as a Lieutenant in Company F of the Twenty-Third South Carolina Regiment of Volunteers. He was captured during the evacuation of Petersburg, Virginia and imprisoned at Johnson Island. He was in the battles of Second Manassas, Bloomburg, Antietam, and Petersburg.
